Innovation and development

HYDROGEN

Part of the history of mankind and the social changes that have occurred over time can be explained by considering the various ways of obtaining and managing energy.

The first industrial revolution is associated with coal and the steam engine. The second to oil and the internal combustion engine. The third arises that it could be that of hydrogen and fuel cells.

HYDROGEN TECHNOLOGY

The combination of hydrogen storage with its production by means of electrolyzers and its conversion to electricity by fuel cells is one of the technologies with more options for the future.

Hydrogen Generation

El Hidrogeno actualmente se obtiene de las materias primas agua y gas natural.

Hydrogen is currently obtained from the raw materials water and natural gas.

In the case of obtaining from water, it is obtained in a conventional way by electrolysis. This consists of applying electric current to an aqueous solution, this electric current can be of renewable origin thus generating the so-called green hydrogen.

Fuel Cells

The use of fuel cells is the great potential of using hydrogen compared to conventional fuels. Its main advantage is a high efficiency in the process of obtaining electricity compared to current systems.

Fuel cells are made up of a multitude of systems and components, and can be adapted for countless applications. Therefore, they represent an opportunity to maintain an industrial activity with high added and innovative value, which maintains the competitiveness of companies.

Storage

One of the main problems facing the development of hydrogen technologies is that, despite the fact that hydrogen has a high calorific value per unit of weight, even greater than gasoline, due to its low density, its power calorific per unit volume is very low.

But once this stumbling block is overcome, hydrogen storage will be the solution for storing the energy resulting from renewable sources.
